David Sanders-Ellis

David is a research assistant currently working on the Education Endowment Foundation funded evaluation of 1stClass@Number, a maths intervention developed by Every Child Counts.

Alongside his work on 1stClass@Number, he is completing an MSc in Psychology at Coventry University. Before this he was a Researcher at Durham University, where he also trained as a primary teacher, and completed an MA in Education. David graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2011, with a BSc (hons) in Forensic Anthropology.


David’s research interests include; improving outcomes for disadvantaged children, the role of “non-cognitive” skills in educational development, and how children persevere in solving maths problems.
