Course content
All students study at least two options and carry out a research and development project in their final year. Those students with no prior M level accreditation complete a further two options before undertaking the research and development project.
In the first year of the MSc (2009-10) only two ‘options’ will be offered (which means that there is no choice of ‘options’ for this first year only).
(1) Learners and Learning
(2) Responsive Teaching.
Core teaching for all students is supported by work in subject-specific supervision groups exploring the specific applications and implications of these key ideas in different curriculum areas.
In the second and subsequent years of the course a wider range of options will be offered. The current proposal for 2010-11 is to offer four further options, although this may vary depending on demand, especially within curriculum areas.
(3) Learners, Diversity and Inclusion;
(4) Professional Learning: Communities and Networks;
(5) Mathematics Education
(6) Science Education.
