Opening of ‘Our Oxford’ Photo Exhibition

17th June 2019 : 18:00 - 19:00

Category: Exhibition

Research Group: Rees Centre

Location: Linacre College Common Room, Linacre College, St Cross Road, OX1 3JA

Convener: Ellie Ott

To mark the beginning of Refugee Week 2019, we warmly welcome you to the opening of an exhibition of photographs taken by two young people who have recently arrived in Oxford.

Their images document both the beauty they have found in the city, and the love of photography which they share. They are the result of workshops organised through the TORCH-funded Knowledge Exchange project Our Narratives: The Education of Unaccompanied Migrant Young People, led by Dr Ellie Ott at the Rees Centre, Department of Education in partnership with the Oxford Orientation Programme and the National Association of Virtual School Heads. This informal event will involve brief presentations on the Orientation Programme and Our Narratives project, an official opening of the exhibition, and plenty of time for guests to meet one another and enjoy the photographs.

We kindly ask you to RSVP by registering for your free ticket.

Access: Please enter via the main entrance to the college on St. Cross Road, and let the Reception staff know that you have come for the photo exhibition opening event taking place in the Common Room. Go through the door to the right of Reception, and the CR will be the first room on your left.
