The Education Library specialises in material on education and related fields. The collection aims to be particularly strong in the areas relevant to the Department of Education’s teaching and research. As well as a print collection of books, journals and statistics, the library provides access to a wide range of electronic resources, many of which offer you access to full text sources. Key education databases for finding references include The British Education Index and ERIC, while useful related databases include the Social Science Citation Index, SCOPUS and PsycInfo. Library staff are happy to help you to use these resources, in training sessions, discussed below, and at any other time. The library’s webpage also includes links to a wide range of useful web resources for education.
The Bodleian Library is the second largest library in the UK. It is a copyright deposit library, with a right to everything published in this country. An automated system via the university catalogue allows you to request material from the Bodleian stacks. This can be ordered to various locations, including, from October 2007, the Department of Education Library. This material is for reference only.
