Dr Sophie Thompson-Lee is a postdoctoral researcher on the project ‘Rethinking teacher recruitment: New approaches to attracting prospective STEM teaching’.
She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics and an MA in Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching (University of York, UK), and a BSc in Psychology (University of Bangor, UK).
Her research focuses on teacher recruitment and retention, specifically for STEM subjects, and career motivations of young people.
Her teaching experience includes quantitative research methods, child language acquisition, phonetics and phonology, and English for academic purposes.
