Abstract

Please register your interest via this expression of interest form.

Young children get more out of apps when they use them with an adult. But which apps really support shared play and learning?

We’re inviting parents and carers of 3–5-year-olds to join an informal workshop to help us find out.

We’ll explore:

  • What makes an app good to use together
  • What supports chat and shared play
  • What gets in the way

No preparation needed – just bring your ideas! We’ll look at real apps together. We’ll also share what we know from our research so far. With your help, we’ll create useful guidance for other families to use in future.

Refreshments will be provided, and we’ll give you a set of children’s books to say thank you.

We have a choice of dates and venues.

Workshop dates

  • Friday 10 April at the Department of Education, University of Oxford
  • Friday 17 April at the Department of Education, University of Oxford
  • Saturday 18 April at Florence Park Community Centre, Cornwallis Road OX4 3NH

The event will be facilitated by Dr Fiona Jelley (Researcher) and Dr Sandra Mathers (Associate Professor).
