Answers

We are now at the point where we can assign an interim rating for these two experiments. The lower of the two scores for Design and Attrition informs the interim rating.

Hoferichter & Jentsch (2024)

As the lowest of the two scores for Design and Attrition was 0 padlocks for Attrition, the interim rating is 0 padlocks. As padlocks can only be adjusted downwards when additional threats to internal validity are considered, we now know that this study will receive a final score of 0. Nonetheless, we will continue to assess this study for the sake of completeness.

Kisida et al. (2020)

As this study received 5 padlocks both for Design and Attrition, the interim rating is 5 padlocks.
