Assessment in the Digital Age: Cultivating Student Agency and Literacy
Export to calendarAbstract
This seminar re-evaluates traditional, teacher-centred assessment models, advocating instead for a dynamic, student-centred paradigm that leverages AI-enabled environments for adaptive learning. Drawing on a series of research studies, we explore the synergistic potential of effectively integrating teacher-directed assessment with student-initiated self-assessment. A particular emphasis is placed on the critical role of cultivating students’ self-assessment and feedback literacy within digital landscapes. The findings inform a comprehensive framework designed to guide the research and implementation of assessment strategies across diverse educational contexts. Finally, by referencing contemporary research on educational assessment and generative AI, we will discuss their transformative impact on pedagogy and the development of the next generation of independent learners.
