The MSc in Educational Assessment provides researchers and professionals with the skills needed to develop and improve educational assessments in their own settings. It balances technical and statistical knowledge with conceptual and theoretical aspects of educational assessments and graduates will have a sound understanding of the design of assessment systems, the options available and their implications. They will be able to analyse the quality of assessments and engage in research, policy and practice questions in an informed and critical manner.
The course is a two-year, part-time program with four residential, intensive weeks in Oxford and online support for self-study periods. Students study three compulsory modules and one optional module and end the course with a dissertation. The course can be completed by spending three periods of time in Oxford, two of which will be one week intensive teaching weeks and one would be a two-week block.
