Research impact workshop on submitting to governmental calls for evidence
Export to calendarAbstract
Research impact on policy is an important contribution to evidence-based social policy. Submitting evidence to calls for evidence and consultations is one way to do this. For example, the Government-commissioned Curriculum and Assessment Review has a call for evidence open until 22 November 2024 on the curriculum and assessment arrangements from age 5 to 18 in England. How might your research inform such reviews?
The workshop is led by Jo-Anne Baird, who is a member of the Curriculum and Assessment Review Group and Michelle Meadows, who has managed policy reform processes including calls for evidence in her previous role as Deputy Chief Regulator at Ofqual.
In this workshop, we will explore
- How calls for evidence might be a useful part of a research impact strategy
- The processes involved in these calls for evidence and how the information is used
- How researchers might approach calls for evidence
We will analyse example submissions from other reviews and consider current calls for evidence, the relevance of our research how submissions can be crafted. Please sign up for this in-person, departmental event by 4 November here.
This event is part of the Oxford University Department of Education’s Future of Curriculum and Assessment in England project.
