Research Centre News

Rees DPhil student Janique Charles has won the Best Student PhD Poster at the EUSARF 2025 Conference for her poster “Young Voices: Understanding the Subjective Well-Being of Children in Caribbean Transnational Families.”

Janique: “Winning the poster prize, was a reminder of the importance of the work that we do at the Rees Centre, and that we should always aim for excellence, when it comes to our research with and for children.”

Her current research focuses on children, who are left behind in the Caribbean and how best to address their needs.

The conference, held this year in Zagreb, brought together junior and senior academics from around the world working in child welfare and related fields.
