Insider/ outsider status when conducting research: a panel event

Each panel member will speak for five to ten minutes about the insider/ outsider dilemmas they face in their doctoral research projects.

These include researching communities of which they are part, and the risks of changing their data by that community membership, as well as the effects which it can have on data interpretation. The panel will be followed by a robust general discussion in which all audience members are invited to participate.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

In 2019, the University of Oxford’s Department of Education celebrates the 100th year since the passing of a statute creating what was known in 1919 as the University Department for the Training of Teachers.
