Masters Courses

The Department of Education currently runs a number of masters courses in education. These are -

MSc Education (Comparative and International Education)

MSc Education (Child Development and Education)

MSc Education (e-Learning)

MSc Education (Higher Education)

MSc Educational Research Methodology

MSc Learning and Teaching (part-time)

 


Masters courses in the department are research based and aim to provide an intellectually stimulating environment in which students develop knowledge, skills and understanding in the particular area and gain skills to carry out their own research.The vast majority of students on these courses are full-time students and the student community is diverse in terms of age, experience, and country of origin.

Applicants should have a good honours degree (or its equivalent) from a British or recognised foreign university. Applicants from overseas must submit full details of qualifications (transcripts, certificates or diplomas) together with evidence of their capacity to meet the requirements of the course for extended writing in English. Applicants must supply two pieces of written work with their applications. If possible the personal statement should include an idea of the proposed area of interest the dissertation may cover.  The University of Oxford stipulates the following minimum requirements for all applicants whose first language is not English: 7.5 in the IELTS test, or 630 (267 in the new computer-based-test) in TOEFL - please see the information on the University web page.
