Dr Alis Oancea is joining the Council of the European Educational Research Association (EERA), with a mandate starting in 2011/2012. She has been a Trustee and elected Executive Council member of the British Educational Research Association (BERA) since 2009.

She is a member of BERA’s Academic Publications Committee, which oversees BERA’s academic publication activity, including the British Educational Research Journal and the British Journal of Technology; in addition, she is editor of Research Intelligence, BERA’s newsletter. As part of her BERA portfolio, she has also been responsible for monitoring current policy initiatives affecting education and education research, and for coordinating BERA’s responses to relevant consultations. As member of EERA’s council, this remit will embrace a more distinctive European dimension.  She will be able to liaise between BERA and EERA and will participate in governance decisions concerning the latter, as well as in Europe-wide discussions and initiatives of interest to the education research communities in the United Kingdom.
