Professor Alis Oancea (Director of Research) has been appointed to a new Horizons2020 Expert Group on New Indicators for Researchers’ Engagement with Open Science and its Impacts.

The group will advise the European Commission on which type of indicators or metrics may be advanced and supported by public policy for the purpose of assessing the extent of researchers’ responsible engagement with open science.

In the same policy area, Professor Oancea has also chaired a panel on researchers’ perspectives on responsible uses of metrics held on 8 February at the HEFCE event ‘The Turning Tide’, which furthered the work of the Forum for Responsible Research Metrics. The event was opened by David Sweeney, Executive Chair Designate, Research England.
