SKOPE Research Workshop: Presenting at Conferences
Export to calendarAbstract
This is the third in a series of SKOPE workshops and seminars sharing expertise and experiences in all stages of research: using theory, Transfer of Status, Confirmation of Status, viva, getting grants, getting published, responding to referees, presenting at conferences, and other topics of interest to the group.
This workshop will develop skills in presenting your research, typically at conferences, but also on other occasions. Slides and notes on presentations will be introduced, but the core of the workshop will be evaluating three practice presentations’ format, form, and substance. For each practice presentation, participants will be invited to offer feedback on one thing that was good and should stay the same, one thing that could be clearer, and suggestions about how it could be clearer.
Practice presentations:
• Colleges’ institutional conditions to develop capabilities – Prof. Lessa Wheelahan
• Collaboration, Coordination and Coherence in a Competitive Sector: Tertiary Education in England – Gonzalo Hidalgo Bazan
• Publications is the big thing: Exploring the Experiences of African Doctoral Students in Universities in China – Vedika Kedia
