A new study involving Oxford University will compare how quality is measured in nurseries and pre-schools using different indicators with what parents, providers and Ofsted view as high quality in early years settings. Sandra Mathers, principal investigator at Oxford University, said: ‘Research tells us that if under-fives are in a poor quality setting they don’t get the good start that affects later outcomes in their learning.’
