Dr Kowalski is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist working in Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. He is the Simulation Lead for the trust having also held this position in his previous post in East London NHS Foundation Trust.
His experience in mental health simulation in particular has led to educational fellowships in Maudsley Simulation and at the University of Toronto. While in Toronto, he was a visiting scholar at the Wilson Centre.
Dr Kowalski is the Deputy Undergraduate lead for the Department of Psychiatry and co-lead of a special study theme on Clinical Education for 4th year medical students.
His research explores the use of simulation-based education in mental health education as well as debriefing theory for this work.
