Ishani’s work focuses on developing youth and community capacity to transform structural inequities through liberatory education models, critical pedagogy, and participatory action research.
Ishani has worked globally over the last decade as an educator and researcher in the UK, United States, Middle East, and North Africa. She began her career as a high-school English teacher and went on to co-found Revolution Hive, an educational non-profit working with youth and teachers from marginalised communities across the UK. Ishani completed her Master’s in Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she also worked to build the Identity, Power, and Justice in Education concentration and as a researcher for the Adolescent Ethnic-Racial Identity Development (AERID) lab.
