About me

Lucy is a Doctoral student and researcher at the Rees Centre research group in the Department of Education.

Before embarking on her DPhil, she completed an ESRC-funded MSc in Education (Research, Design and Methodology) in the department. She has a media background and as a journalist at the BBC, worked on a number of current affairs documentaries about young people and social justice. She has also worked as an educator in voluntary sector settings.

Her main research interests involve understanding the role of education and training in supporting and providing opportunities for care-experienced young people. Her research focuses on how non traditional forms of education support their progression.

Lucy also works as part of the research team, under Dr Ariel Lindorff.
