Martín is a full-time DPhil student in the Department of Education and a recipient of a PhD scholarship from Chile’s National Agency for Research and Development (ANID). He holds a BA and an MA in Educational Psychology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
His research interests focus on higher education and teacher education, particularly at the intersections of motivational development, diversity, and inclusion. His doctoral work examines how different sources of teacher self-efficacy develop throughout teacher preparation programmes.
Before starting his doctorate, Martín combined research work with roles in higher education administration, serving for several years as a research assistant and later as Academic Coordinator in teacher education. He now continues his research at the Centre for Advanced Research in Education (CIAE), University of Chile, and is an early-career researcher in the FONIDE 2025–2026 project funded by the Chilean Ministry of Education.
