PGCE interns raise funds for cancer trust
On Tuesday 14th April, PGCE interns and tutors gathered in St Hugh’s bar to participate in a charity pub quiz.
The quiz saw an excellent turn out of students with over 100 attending, each of whom contributed at least £4. In addition to this, interns donated raffle prizes and bought charity cocktails produced by the bar staff. All of this contributed to a fantastic £611.80 raised for MacMillan cancer trust. The event was organised to show a uniform support for a colleague who has very sadly had to pull out of the course due to cancer.
Interns from each of the seven curriculum areas produced a fun round of 10 questions with a subject specific twist, while bonus points were awarded for teams with a greater representation of the curriculum areas within their team. The winning team generously donated the winner’s pot back to the fund raising effort, further contributing to the cause. We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all who contributed to such a successful event and are delighted to show our support to a fellow inter and anybody affected by cancer.
