Teacher Training in Pakistan

The Project

Durbeen partners with Oxford In Pakistan, to improve teacher education and curriculum at the Government Elementary College, Hussainabad, by co-developing a high quality teachers’ education MSc programme.

1. What does an educationally and contextually appropriate programme of study for teacher educators look like for Durbeen’s Graduate School of Education?

2. What would be the best structure catering to the curriculum needs for each programme specialisation (Maths, Science, Language, Social Studies, Education Psychology) within the school?

3. How should the course outlines be set out for each programme to achieve improved outcomes?

3.1What level of detail is needed for the course and description?

3.2 What level of detail is needed for each semester outline? (Beyond topics to be taught each week)

3.3 What course objectives and outcomes are envisaged by the faculty working in Pakistani institutions?

3.4 What do the teaching resources look like?

3.5 What are the practices that have been successful in Pakistan? What are the challenges?
