Researcher

Job role

Internal Applicants Only

About the Role

Seeking a part-time researcher to collaborate on two publications.

This post will support work funded by the University of Oxford’s Social Sciences Division through the Returning Carers Fund.

This role will involve working with Dr Ariel Lindorff on two papers to be submitted to peer-reviewed journals. One involves a review of studies of learning loss due to COVID-19 with a focus on methodology and measurement, the other explores different ways of representing and interpreting educational equity in multilevel models. In both cases, most of the analysis is complete, and the research assistant would be involved in tasks such as updating literature reviews, contributing to writing up the discussion, and producing figures/graphs for statistical outputs. Applicants interested in working on both papers are welcome to apply, but those whose interests and skills align with one paper, or the other are equally encouraged to apply, as the post can be easily split between two people.

This opportunity is intended for a doctoral researcher/researchers or equivalent starting as soon as possible and ending December 2025. Evidence of strong writing and literature review skills is key, evidence of contributing to publications in peer-reviewed academic journals as well as experience of and interest in at least one of the paper topics and approaches would all be assets.

Please contact Ariel (ariel.lindorff@education.ox.ac.uk) with any questions about the post(s) or projects.

This appointment is fixed-term, on a part-time, variable basis.

Please submit a CV and brief cover letter  no  later than 12:00pm, Thursday 28 August 2025.
