Jamie is a final-year doctoral student and researcher within the Oxford University Centre for Educational Assessment. His research uses question-level performance data from the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) to look at predicting test-item difficulty from question content, and looking at whether item-level performance data can provide valid diagnostic information about students’ strengths and weaknesses in mathematics.
Jamie joined OUCEA in 2017 to assist with the delivery of the national report for England in PIRLS 2016, and has continued to work on the delivery of national reports for international large-scale assessments, including for PIRLS 2021 and PISA 2022. His main research interests are in international large-scale assessments and test-item development.
