Heather joined the Department in September 2022, bringing more than 15 years’ experience across communications, public relations and journalism. She has particular expertise in crisis communications, press engagement, branding and event management.
As an accomplished senior communications strategist and trained journalist, Heather has worked across a wide range of public and private sector organisations, delivering high-impact campaigns that have helped organisations enhance their visibility, reputation and impact.
In her current role, supported by the Communications Team, she leads the implementation of the Department’s communications strategy, aligning communications activity with the Department’s teaching and research priorities. She also has oversight of internal and external communications channels, branding, videography, design, media relations and podcasting.
