Ethnicity, Care Experience and Criminalisation: Using Admin Data to Interrogate Youth (In)Justice in England

Export to calendar

Abstract

Linked datasets from Ministry of Justice and Department for Education have made it possible to interrogate the relationship between care experience (i.e. having been in kinship care, foster care and/or children’s homes), ethnicity and youth justice involvement in England using population level data. Taking a critical perspective, Katie will draw on findings from an ADR UK Fellowship project using these datasets showcasing the potential of administrative data to challenge (in)justices.
