Guardian Social Care Online 7 July 2015.

Article asks how good is the social care sector at building an evidence base? Dr Christina Plafky is a research fellow in evidence informed practice at the Rees Centre for Research in Fostering and Education, Department of Education. She says “the complexity of social care and social work means that there will never be simple ways for research to be translated into practice. Often practitioners are working with quite complicated family situations, making it difficult to draw on research that can be directly applied during the intervention, assessment and decision-making process.”
