The Centre for Global Higher Education conducts research on the future of global higher education. Hosted at the University of Oxford’s Department of Education, our partnership brings together colleagues from universities in the UK and across the world. With support from the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council, the Centre brings together researchers, students and higher education policymakers from across the globe.

The Oxford Education Deanery aims to facilitate a two-way conduit between the wealth of expertise in Oxford’s world-leading Department of Education and education practitioners. We offer training top-ups, a range of short courses, and events for professionals and educators looking to engage with Oxford’s world-leading research, and each other. We hope to empower educators worldwide to understand, use, and co-produce high-quality research evidence in education.

The Oxford University Centre for Educational Assessment (OUCEA) conducts research in a wide range of assessment issues, in different sectors and educational levels. We focus on the role of assessment in public policy and system-level change. We actively engage with practitioners and policy-makers on current issues, collaborating with colleagues in a range of educational and assessment organisations around the world.

The Rees Centre aims to improve the education, wellbeing and life outcomes of those who are, or have been supported by children’s social care services, with a focus on children in need (including those in care), adoptive and special guardianship families and care experienced adults. We produce research and evidence which enables us to understand and improve the role of children’s social care in the education and lives of children and families supported by children’s social care. We conduct research to understand the nature and causes of outcomes, test ideas about how things might improve and to inform policy and practice.

The Centre on Skills, Knowledge and Organisational Performance (SKOPE) is multi-disciplinary, with staff and associates from most branches of the social sciences. Our central aim is to examine the links between the acquisition and use of skills and knowledge, production and product strategies and economic performance – be it of individuals, organisations or countries.
