Alice has taught preschool through higher education in elementary and postsecondary schools in Canada and Switzerland. She currently works in teacher education and qualification in Ontario. Her doctoral research, conducted in collaboration with her child research partner, WWFBI (World-Wide Fantastic Bird Investigator), explores children’s sense of kinship with birds and local spaces. The study examines the relational and participatory potential of education research to foster interspecies and intergenerational knowledge sharing.
Alice holds a Master’s degree in Child Development and Applied Psychology from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, as well as an Honours Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from McGill University, with a thesis on Children’s literature as pedagogy.
Alice divides her time between Europe and Canada, where she enjoys the spring blossoms of Oxford, kayaking in Canada, and hiking in the Swiss mountains. She is grateful for the opportunity to partner with children in research and for the joy, stories, inspiration, and insight they share so generously with her.
