About me

I have always been interested in education’s role in sustaining or resisting the class system in the UK, especially as a first-generation student who has been confronted by such power structures throughout my educational journey. With a BA in History and International Relations from Exeter University and MSc in Higher Education from Oxford, I have narrowed my research focus to centre upon policy discourse, subject-choice and widening participation trends and agendas within Higher Education and secondary schools. The future, purpose and structure of Higher Education in the UK has been receiving significant media attention in recent years, and I seek to understand the structures of power surrounding students and their decisions and voices within this volatile space.
