Moran Chen is a DPhil student in Education at the University of Oxford. His research interests focus on artificial intelligence in education, particularly how institutional policies and norms shape educators’ understandings and uses of generative AI in teaching and assessment.
He holds an MSc in Engineering and Education from University College London and a BEng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering from King’s College London. His master’s dissertation examined how institutional norms influence engineering educators’ adoption of generative AI through a qualitative case study at UCL.
Drawing on his background in engineering and education, he is interested in the relationship between technological change, institutional contexts, and educational practice.
