Yue Wu is a DPhil student in education and a Swire Scholar at St Antony’s College, the University of Oxford.
Yue has a strong interest in researching knowledge/power relations and epistemic injustice in the global knowledge system. In her master’s thesis, Yue examined the various strategies for institutionalising traditional Chinese Humanities in higher education, particularly focusing on the cases of Chinese Palaeography and Chinese Classics (Guoxue).
Following that, Yue’s doctoral research will continue exploring the power dynamics within the global knowledge system. By focusing on the current ‘indigenisation’ trend in Chinese academia, she aims to investigate the mechanisms used in different disciplines to transform foreign knowledges into local intellectual resources.
Prior to Oxford, Yue completed her MA degree in Higher Education at Tsinghua University and obtained a BA degree in Education from Zhejiang University in China.
