Yuyuan is a doctoral student in the Department of Education at the University of Oxford. Her research interests lie at the intersection of literary and language education, particularly in how graphic novels can illuminate the dynamics of human interaction and support English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners’ language acquisition. Through her research, she hopes to explore how literature can serve as a bridge between cultures, help learners develop greater agency as communicators, and promote more inclusive and equitable intercultural engagement. Prior to joining Oxford, she completed an MPhil in Education (Critical Approaches to Children’s Literature) at the University of Cambridge. She also has teaching experience with learners ranging from primary school pupils to university students.
