Zilu’s research focuses on medical education and public health. She is specifically interested in using behavioural science approaches to improve learners’ motivation, decision-making and well-being.
Her doctoral project is currently examining the effects of learning-related environment, beliefs and emotions on mental health issues among medical students, integrated methods from epidemiology and psychology. A self-help digital intervention for emotional regulation will be designed and validated later based on the behavioural sciences frameworks and reported data from representative samples.
Prior to coming to Oxford, Zilu completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in health professions education in Hong Kong. She has contributed to a few medical education innovation projects and public health implementation trials in universities, hospitals and the government settings.
