Professorial title for Alis Oancea

In recognition of Alis Oancea’s contribution to the field of education and the philosophy of education, she has been awarded the title of Professor.

Alis’ work on educational structures such as the Research Excellence Framework, funding and knowledge exchange and impact mechanisms have been particularly influential.  Her overarching research interest is in research policy and governance in education. Alis is our incoming Director of Research, having been the Deputy Director for a number of years.  She is also Pro-Proctor at the University of Oxford and has contributed to many national and international roles, including as Lead Editor of ‘Research Intelligence’, Co-Editor of the journal ‘Review of Education’ and trustee of the British Educational Research Association.  Alis is a Fellow of Kellogg College and completed her second doctorate here in the Department of Education.
