Diverse Contributions to Educational Research

The Project

Research activities often involve diverse input from various stakeholders, but it can be challenging to understand, recognise, credit, and support such diverse contributions ethically and properly, particularly in the field of educational research.

This project investigates how are ‘contributions to research’ understood in the field of educational research; who contributes; what counts as a contribution; what tools and resources already exist, and what are their applicability to educational research; and how we can better understand, acknowledge, credit, and support diverse contributions in future educational research.

The project will draw on reviews of existing literature, analysis of guidelines and resources, as well as interviews and workshops with ‘diverse contributors’ and key stakeholders in this field, to address those research questions and develop a toolkit.

Former research student interns include: Farzana Begum (UNIQ+ intern, July-August 2024), Farzana Chowdhury (UNIQ+ intern, July-August 2024), and Chang Shen (Intern, April-May 2024).
