EnteR: Enhancing Teacher Readiness
The Project
How can we assess and develop professional attributes for teaching in Australian schools?
EnTeR employs a continuous view of assessing and confirming the key professional attributes for teaching in schools. Teacher education students complete a baseline, situational judgment test (SJT) within the first month of their program of study followed by scenario-based learning modules throughout the first two years. New content will be developed with local partners in Australia to reflect the schooling experiences of Aboriginal students and their communities, the interests of regional, rural and remote schools and teaching in early years contexts.
Research questions
- How can we evaluate professionalism and socio-emotional intelligence in future teachers?
- How can we ensure diversity and inclusion in our approach?
