Discussion on education cites the effective pre-school and primary education (EPPE) study, run jointly by the University of Oxford, which is described as ‘a large cohort study of 3,000 children across the UK [which found] that children from disadvantaged backgrounds benefited enormously by having a long period of pre-school education that was play-based’.
