The Department of Education was delighted to host the annual student-led STORIES Conference on 15th and 16th March.

The co-ordination of the conference was organised by team of volunteers, Masters and DPhil students. The theme for 2021 was Resilience, Resistance and Reflexivity in education and with 180 attendees from 15 countries across 4 continents, there was widespread international representation.

This year the conference was held online, and offered a mixture of individual presentations sessions, a poster session, and panel discussions by leading experts in their fields, including a focus on ‘imagining the future of education’ by Dr Willy Oppenheim.

Attendee feedback highlighted the benefits of fostering communication and networks for students at this stage of their studies: I have made some great contacts […] built confidence in my research and been inspired for future research.”
