About the Role
The Department of Education is looking for a self-motivated Centre Co-ordinator to provide a comprehensive administration support to the newly created Centre for the Learning and Teaching of Chinese. This is a highly responsible role, and you will be involved in implementing new processes and collaborating with the wider department to ensure that the centre delivers in its mission and embeds itself within the wider department.
Your role will be to support in the day-to-day operations of the Centre, undertaking all of the wide variety of administrative functions, ensuring that they are aligned with the wider Department and liaising with the wider professional services team. You will be expected to manage your own workload, and to work with independence and within minimal supervision, while being part of the wider professional services team.
The postholder will have proven experience in university administration or office management, with responsibility for coordinating day-to-day operations. They will demonstrate strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage complex diaries, arrange meetings and coordinate travel effectively. The role requires the ability to prioritise a varied workload, meet deadlines, and work under pressure while using initiative and maintaining a collaborative approach as part of a team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with senior academics, stakeholders and external contacts, both in writing and verbally. A high level of proficiency in Microsoft 365 and other office systems is essential, along with the flexibility to adapt to new technologies.
This post is fixed term for 3 years, on a full time basis.
