HR Administrator

Job role

The Department of Education is seeking an experienced and motivated HR Administrator to join its dedicated, professional and friendly HR team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a busy and growing department with an internationally recognised reputation for education research. 
You will work collaboratively with your HR colleagues, to provide a responsive, accurate and customer-focused service to our professional services, research and academic community. 

About the role 

You will provide day-to-day HR advice and administrative support, manage recruitment exercises from initial planning through to appointment, prepare contracts and employment documentation, process monthly payroll changes and support staff induction. You will also help to implement University HR policies and procedures, maintain confidential personnel records, monitor key employment dates and contribute to HR projects. 
The role includes responsibility for ensuring that HR activity is completed accurately and in accordance with data protection requirements, payroll procedures and Home Office regulations. 

About you 

You will have experience of working in an HR team or HR role, together with up-to-date knowledge of employment law and an awareness of data protection and information security requirements. You will be able to explain HR processes clearly, provide a high standard of service and handle confidential information with discretion. 
You will also bring excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines. You should be confident working independently and collaboratively, and willing to undertake relevant professional development. Experience of electronic HR systems and of delivering presentations or induction training would be an advantage.
