Department ranked 3rd in the world for education
The Department of Education at Oxford University was announced today as 3rd in the world and 1st in the UK in Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings 2024 by subject.
Professor Victoria Murphy, Director of the Department, said: “We are proud to be highlighted as world leading in education and will continue strive for excellence in all that we do. The Times Higher Education ranking reflects the excellent teaching and research which goes on every day at our department and is a fantastic reflection on all our staff.”
The subject ranking for education includes 703 universities across the world, and highlights the universities that are leading across the disciplines including education, teacher training, and academic studies in education.

Earlier this month, the University of Oxford topped the Times Higher Education World University Rankings as the best university in the world for a record eighth consecutive year.
