The Times Higher Education Subject Rankings for 2025 were recently released and highlighted the organisation in these top spots.
Professor Victoria Murphy, Director of the Department, said: “It’s always thrilling to see the hard work and dedication of our staff highlighted in these global rankings. The THE rankings are widely regarded as some of the top tables to show the academic prowess of educational institutions across the world and so, of course, we’re delighted to be third in the world and first in the UK.
“It really reflects the dedication to teaching and research which is at the heart of our community.”
The THE’s Education Studies table evaluates schools and colleges across three core disciplines of Education Studies, Teacher Training and Academic Studies in Education.
This year’s rankings include 767 institutions from 87 countries and territories, which have been assessed based on 18 rigorous performance indicators that measure teaching quality and research excellence.
