Dr Karen Skilling has been awarded the title of Associate Professor in the recent conferment of title exercise.
Karen is a Departmental Lecturer in Mathematics, Deputy Director of Doctoral Research, and the PGCE Maths Lead. Her research interests include student engagement and motivation in mathematics, mathematics instruction across primary through to secondary years, integrated STEM learning, and vignette methods.
Karen said: “I am very pleased to be awarded this title and would like to thank the department and division for their support. I am also grateful to those who have mentored and encouraged me since beginning my PhD through to Post-Doctoral Fellowship and into an academic career. This includes colleagues from Australia, the UK and others in the national and international mathematics education community.”
