Asia is a doctoral researcher in the Reparative Futures of Education programme and a recipient of a Repair-Ed UKRI scholarship. She is a photographer and the founding director of Global Routes Project, a community interest company that supports children with critical visual literacy through photography. With fifteen years of experience as a primary school teacher and leader, Asia is an experienced educator. She holds an MA in Culture, Diaspora, and Ethnicity with Linguistics and Art History from Birkbeck, University of London. Her research explores how children imagine places and communities through photo-research creation. She is particularly interested in how children participate in the production, sharing, and valuing of knowledge within their education.
