About me

Dr Olav Schewe is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Co-Principal Investigator on the project “Developing Lifelong Learners for an Automated Future” at Oxford University’s Centre on Skills, Knowledge, and Organisational Performance (SKOPE). He is also an Associate Member of Harris Manchester College.

Olav’s research focuses on how to improve learning, motivation, and performance in education and the workplace. He draws on a range of approaches, including experimental and mixed-methods designs, and his work spans areas such as self-regulated learning, motivation science, behavioural change, educational technology, and impact evaluation.

Outside the department, Olav is a Research Affiliate at Harvard University’s Next Level Lab and an Advisor at the International Centre for EdTech Impact. Before his academic career, he spent several years in finance roles in global companies and authored four books, including two on learning skills translated into more than 20 languages.

Olav holds a BSc in Economics and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics, and an MBA and DPhil in Education from the University of Oxford.
