On 4th March 2014, following the announcement on the 7th October 2013 of the Review of Initial Teacher Training (ITT) in Wales, Professor John Furlong was appointed Wales’ expert Initial Teacher Training advisor by the Minister for Education and Skills, Huw Lewis.
