Interdisciplinary hub to promote developmental recovery for infants

Additional Information

This hub focuses on promoting optimal outcomes for infants who have had significant adverse early  life experiences and whose cognitive, social and emotional development may have been impacted as a result. The team has identified an urgent need to:

  • Support all adults involved in these babies’ lives – whether they are birth parents, kinship carers, foster carers or adoptive parents – in terms of providing intensive input to meet their developmental needs;
  • Improve practice across health and social care in terms of supporting this vulnerable group of infants.

This hub will bring together an international community of academics, policymakers and practitioners, alongside experts by experience, across the UK and Europe. It aims to deliver a programme of applied research using an interdisciplinary, co-design and multiple levels of analysis perspective.

This community of experts will share knowledge and collaborate on applications for small- and large-scale funding to design, evaluate, and implement initiatives intended to improve outcomes for this vulnerable group of children.
