This research group focuses on advancing equitable, inclusive education through research that informs policy, systems, culture, and practice. Our work centres on improving educational experiences and outcomes for children and young people with, and those at increased likelihood of, SEND, with a particular commitment to equity, intersectionality, and social justice.
The group brings together researchers from across disciplines to develop innovative approaches to understanding and addressing educational inequalities. We aim to generate impactful research that supports more inclusive educational systems and practices locally, nationally, and internationally.
Our research agenda is not prescriptive regarding fields of enquiry within the scope of inclusion and SEND research. Rather, our work is shaped by the strengths and interests of our membership.
We welcome members bringing a range of perspectives and interests, including all students and staff, who can contribute to the aims above, and we foresee the group developing and being shaped by the membership over time.
